"hibiscus"

As you can see I live in Zone 7. I have beautiful potted Hibiscus that I cannot leave outside in the winter. My question is... Can I bring them inside my basement during the winter and what do I need to do to them so that I will have them again next season.

thank you.

   Hi Joanne,
There are so many types of Hibiscus so I will give a generalized anwswer. I have seen hibiscus grown inside during a winter and then brought outside for the warm weather. The important thing will be enough light. Can you give it good strong light?

Check the soil for insects and you might want to repot it with good potting soil or at least add some more.

Keep it watered, but don't over do it. That should be it, water, good soil, and enough light.

In the spring when you take it outside don't put it into direct sunlight right away. It needs to be acclimated to the stronger light first.

Bye, Diane
