"endangered species"

I just read where the "Tennessee Coneflower"-echinacea tennesseensis-is on the top of the list for endangered flowers. Since my husband is from TN I was wondering 'if' and 'where' I might find this flower, and if it is one that would survive MI weather. Thanks.

Hi Marcy, I talked to someone who grows this perennial in zone 4, she said it barely survives their winters, but feels it should do O.K. in zone 5, (zone 5 is warmer than 4.) She thought Johnny's Seeds carried the seed, but I checked my catalog and couldn't find them. You could send them an email at www.johnnyseeds.com and ask them if they have some tucked away somewhere. Hope this helps, Diane
