"'sisters' theme garden"

   Hi All,
I'm planning a 'sisters' theme garden that features plants with names that will represent my four sisters and myself. Some are easy like 'autumn joy' sedum for my sister Joy, or 'new dawn' climbing rose for my sister Dawn. If anyone has suggestions for me I would so much appreciate it. Haven't found anything for Denise. Here's the names:
Pamela or Pam
Constance or Connie
Joy
Denise or DeeDee
Dawn (my nickname for her is Rosie)

Thnaks for any help. AND thanks John for fixing the forum page so I could post this.

   Hi Connie,
Tuff question!!!

I called a large nursery near here because the only thing I could come up with off the top of my head was a Dawn Redwood Tree. It gets very large! And also there is a rose called 'New Dawn Rose' and Bordines does sell it.

Anyways, the people at the nursery have posted the note and will call if anyone can think of anything. Many roses have women's names but they didn't come up with anything right then. They thought there might be a mum with Connie or Constance in it.

Ever think of 'naming' a favorite plant after each sister? I heard of a grandma that would purchase a special plant for each grandchild, label it with a nice label with each of their names and the kids were always excited to come and see 'their' plants. That way she could pick a plant that maybe was a favorite color or the correct plant for the location. Just a thought.

Bye, Diane (I'll write back if the nursery comes up with anything.)

   Hi,
Here are two more ideas: Constance Rose Peony and Pink Dawn Viburnum. Hope this helps.

Thanks Diane for helping me with this project. Those last two suggestions were new ones for me. Yahoo!! I've been preparing the site for this 'sisters' garden for the last two days and excited to get it going. Still have not found any plants with the name Denise but I'm sure eventually I'll run in to something. Thank you again for your help. Happy Gardening, Connie

Hi! I was just browsing the forum and saw your themed garden! I love the idea....I may even use it if you don't mind!! I found a flower called Sunny Denise. I believe it is a type of mum. It really just looks like a yellow mum, but that was it's name. Hope it helps!
