My Moms plant is a agapathus. It is not a bulb. It has a pod thing that the seeds are in. How do i get the seeds to replant them. And when do I plant them?
A: Seed pods need to mature. If collected prior to this time they won't germinate. Allow the pods to get dry and full. Many seeds pods will even rattle when they are mature; I am not sure about agapanthus pods. Since you live in Calf. and have a year round growing season I would think you can try to start seed almost any time. Some Agapanthus continues to grow into larger clumps. This is a way to get more plants; you just split the large clump into smaller clumps. How about your moms, does it spread?
